after pride comes wrath.
Pride reminds us who we are.
Wrath reminds us what we're willing to do.
In the early 1970s, the LGBTQ+ community reappropriated the word Pride.
What once marked us with shame became a declaration of self-worth. A signal that we would no longer shrink, apologize, or disappear. Especially in the wake of the Stonewall Riots, Pride became more than a feeling—it became a strategy for survival and liberation.
In 2026, we’re reclaiming another word: Wrath. Not as a sin. Not as a stereotype. But as a tool focused on actionable efforts.
Wrath is often coded as danger—something loud, irrational, destructive. But what if Wrath became something else entirely in the LGBTQIA+ community? What if Wrath was a passion that refused to be pacified? A fuel for community action, not chaos? What if Wrath meant showing up strong, loud, and determined?
Signing up to volunteer. Registering to vote. Reaching out to our civic and political leaders. Lending our time, our resources, and our gifts to movements that demand better.
What if Wrath was love with its sleeves rolled up?
learn. speak. build. defend. sustain.
In 2026, Wrath isn’t about anger. It’s about taking those emotions of anxiety, frustration, and hopelessness and turning them into momentum. It’s the fire that fuels action. We’re channeling Wrath into volunteering, civic engagement, and bold community care. It’s not fury—it’s focus.
Wrath is sustained. Wrath is disciplined. Wrath fills school board meetings. Wrath donates $15 every month instead of posting once.
Wrath calls representatives. Wrath volunteers. Wrath registers voters. Wrath learns. Wrath builds inclusion.
Wrath is a reminder that Pride isn't the destination. It's the celebration, the rally. Pride is the spark that insists the fire keep burning long after the confetti has been swept away. This isn’t just wordplay. It’s a reframing of what power looks like. It’s a refusal to let the world tell us how to feel—or how to fight.
Wrath starts today.
After Pride Comes Wrath isn’t about creating a new way to talk about how complex, bad, or difficult times are right now for the LGBTQIA+ community, but instead a reminder: You’re here. You care. What are you going to do to activate your Wrath today?
Because Wrath Season lasts 334 days.

Anger is just anger. It isn't good. It isn't bad. It just is. What you do with it is what matters. It's like anything else. You can use it to build or to destroy. You just have to make the choice.
